FAQs

Do you accept Insurance

We Accept BlueCross BlueShield PPO & Blue Choice Plans.

We currently accept BCBS for visits with our doctors, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, nutritionists, and mental health counselors. Please check your coverage with your insurance company prior to your visit, and a deductible and/or co-payment may be required.

Our acupuncturists are not currently in network with any insurance plans, but if you have a different insurance provider, we can provide you with a detailed superbill to submit out-of-network. Your insurance company may reimburse you for part of your visit.

What if I don't have BlueCross BlueShield?

WholeHealth Chicago is in network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Blue Choice Plans and will bill your qualifying claims directly to them.

If you don’t have a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, you may still get reimbursed for your next visit by authorizing our partner company to file your claim on your behalf. Once approved, you will get any reimbursement sent directly to you from your insurance company.

Best of all, WholeHealth Chicago is offering this as a free service to our patients.

Do you accept HSA or FSA for non-covered servies?

Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts often pay for healthcare services and products that your health insurance will not cover. We will provide documentation of medical necessity to facilitate reimbursement. Check with your program administrator or our office for more information.

Do you accept Medicare?

Dr. Cliff Maurer is currently our only provider accepting Medicare patients.

Medicare covers only Dr. Maurer’s spinal manipulation services. Please contact our office for more information on Medicare coverage.

Are you accepting new patients?

We are always welcoming new patients!

If you are interested in becoming a patient, please request an appointment or call our office at (773) 296-670

In order to better serve you, here’s a quick checklist of items to prepare before your first visit:

  • Complete your new patient paperwork prior to your scheduled appointment.
  • We accept BlueCross BlueShield PPO and Blue Choice plans; please check your coverage with your insurance company prior to your visit.
  • If you have a different insurance provider, we have partnered with a 3rd party to submit your out of network claim on your behalf at no cost to you.
  • If you do not have insurance or are coming in for a self-pay service, please bring payment in the form of Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, check, or cash. Payment is due at the time service is rendered.

What services are Self-pay only services?

Services such as acupuncture, therapeutic massage, Healing Touch, and nutrient infusions, as well as others, are usually not covered by insurers. Upon request, WholeHealth Chicago will provide receipts for patients to self-submit for reimbursement. In addition, nutritional and herbal products from our Apothecary are generally not covered under pharmacy benefits.

If you do not have insurance or are coming in for a self-pay service, please bring payment in the form of Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, check, or cash. Payment is due at the time service is rendered.
