Dr. Greg Haarman

Dr. Haarman was raised near Strasburg, IL, and graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg in 1993. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Illinois in 1999. He then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, graduating in 2003. He graduated Magma Cum Laude and is a member of OKU, a dental honors fraternity.

He was a resident at a trial dental program at St. Louis University Children’s Hospital prior to returning to the Effingham, IL, area to practice general dentistry. He moved to Decatur in 2006.Dr. Haarman is involved in the Decatur Dental Society, serving in many roles, including Vice President. He sits on the Moultrie County Board of Health.

Dr. Haarman is also an active member in the Taylorville Kiwanis Club.Dr. Haarman is married to Dr. Lewis and they have one son, Paul, and a daughter, Agnes, who was born in September 2014.

They have two dogs and two cats. Dr. Haarman has a green thumb and a love of tomato gardening. He is an avid cook and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, teaching Paul about nature right in the city.
