primary care

primary care

Primary care is about you and your health. Your care team helps you address immediate and long-term health concerns. They will provide routine screenings, treat issues and help coordinate specialist care as needed.

Why do I need a primary care provider?
Even if you feel healthy, your primary care provider can help you identify issues earlier, when they may be easier to address. They also help you treat issues and plan for a lifetime of good health.

What types of issues can a primary care provider help me address?
Your primary care provider can address current health issues, support you in reaching health goals, make sure you complete important health screenings and help you stay up-to-date with your vaccines.

How do I choose a primary care provider?
The most important thing in finding the right long-term provider is finding someone you trust. Check reviews and consider what would make you feel comfortable sharing your health information.

What should I discuss with my primary care provider?
You should consider discussing anything health-related that is concerning or unusual, your family and health history, any health goals you'd like to achieve and your current mental wellbeing.

How often should I see my primary care provider?
It is recommended that everyone see their provider once a year for an annual exam to assess overall health. You may also see your provider for new health issues, or as a follow up when needed.

Mental Health

Mental Health

Prices vary, insurance not accepted
Mental health is an integral part of overall wellness — Carbon Health provides holistic care and can help you manage your mental health.

Virtual Mental Health visits cost $99.

How much do mental health visits cost at Carbon Health?
All visits cost $99 (for one 50-minute session). We do not accept insurance for these visits.

Do you take insurance?
We do not currently accept insurance for therapy visits. Our therapists are considered out-of-network providers. However, you can submit our bills to your insurance, and may receive out of network reimbursement, depending on your plan. We’re also working on accepting insurance - stay tuned!

Can I get medication?
Our virtual therapy program does not support medication prescribing, only therapy. If you’d like to explore medication as a part of your treatment plan, please schedule a visit with your Carbon primary care provider.

How soon can I book an appointment?
You are able to schedule your appointment with your therapist as soon as possible, often within a matter of days.

What happens after I book an appointment?
You will complete an intake form, so that your therapist has more context for your visit.
During your first session, your therapist will review select areas from your intake form and talk through your goals for care. Together, you will formulate a care plan to meet those goals.
After this, ongoing meetings with your therapist and routine follow-ups with Carbon’s progress tracking tools will help you stay on the path to recovery.

What is Carbon’s policy on canceling or rescheduling my therapy appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we request that you make changes at least 48 hours in advance.

Do I need to download any software for my appointment?
In order to attend your video visits with your therapist, you will need to download the Carbon Health app. On the app, we use HIPAA-compliant video conferencing tools to connect you with your care providers.

How do I get help if I’m in crisis?
