In-Office Dental Cleanings

Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation locations provide in-office teeth cleanings to keep your smile bright and healthy. Before the cleaning process begins, the dental hygienist uses a small mirror to check the entire mouth for any signs of gum disease or other potential concerns. If any issues are detected, the dental hygienist might call upon the dentist to make sure it’s okay to proceed.

Your hygienist uses a scaler to remove plaque and tartar around the gums and between the teeth. The more tartar there is in your mouth, the more time they’ll need for removal. Professional teeth cleaning is a simple process that presents several benefits to both your oral health and appearance.

  • Prevention of gum disease, cavities, and other oral health issues
  • Reduced chance of diabetes, heart attack, and stroke
  • Fresher breath and whiter teeth
  • Reduced chance of mental deterioration and dementia
Oral Exams

Oral Exams

A dental exam is used to examine and evaluate the teeth for any existing issues such as damage, decay, or inflammation. Your dentist will use a small mirror and toolkit to perform s full-mouth exam and take x-rays if needed. While dental checkups are recommended every 6 months, most patients only come in when experiencing issues such as pain, swelling, or injury. In order to avoid potentially painful and expensive issues down the road, it is best to stay on top of your visits before anything serious develops!

If we do identify any issues, our team will work with you to develop an affordable treatment plan. In-office visits are important to maintaining proper oral health and tooth appearance, especially in young children who are still developing. Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation offices perform regular dental exams and teeth cleanings to keep your smile bright and healthy.

Teeth Whitening Treatments

Teeth Whitening Treatments

Professional teeth whitening is a simple process that includes in-office treatments to restore the whiteness of teeth. Whitening from a dental professional is both safer and more effective than over-the-counter whitening kits done at home. Our dentists have performed thousands of whitening treatments with successful results and happy patients. Teeth whitening is a quick and painless way to brighten your smile and get rid of unwanted staining. Interested in scheduling a consultation at our DaviePlantation, or Tamarac office? One of our specialties is the popular Philips Zoom whitening treatment for adults. Our dentists will develop a treatment plan that fits your goals, budget, and schedule.

Tooth whitening products contain one of two bleaches (hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide). These bleaches break stains into smaller pieces, which makes the color less concentrated and your teeth brighter. Dentist-supervised teeth whitening treatments produce better results in less time than DIY kits; dental offices have access to professional-grade whitening gel and specialists with years of experience. This ultimately leads to whiter, more even coloring, and a better smile. There are two categories of staining as it relates to the teeth: extrinsic staining and intrinsic staining.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Tooth extraction is common in cases of disease, trauma, or crowding. Many people are scared to have a tooth removed, but your dentist will administer anesthesia to alleviate any pain and discuss a post-surgery care plan. In most cases, a small to moderate amount of bleeding is normal. Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation locations have performed many wisdom teeth extractions and are here to guide you every step of the way.

We educate patients on what to expect and make sure they are both comfortable and relaxed throughout the process. Tooth extraction can provide a solution to issues such as overcrowding and painful infections. For the first few days after removal, you must rinse, rinse your mouth gently. If you experience swelling, apply a cold cloth or an ice bag and call our team right away. Ask your dentist about pain medication and continue brushing and flossing as usual while avoiding the extraction area.

Dental implants

Dental implants

When dental implants are placed in your jawbone, they bond with your natural bone. They become a sturdy base for supporting one or more artificial teeth, called crowns. A connector – known as an abutment – is placed on top of the implant to hold and support your crowns, which are custom-made to match your natural teeth and fit your mouth. Our DaviePlantation, and Tamarac services include dental implants for patients looking to correct damaged or missing teeth and start smiling again!

Modern implants have been used successfully for over 30 years. They are the strongest devices available to support replacement teeth – and even better, they allow these new teeth to feel, look and function naturally. When performed by a trained and experienced implant dentist, this surgery is one of the safest and most predictable procedures in dentistry. This restorative procedure can be an optimal solution to the negative impacts and appearance of missing teeth. Aside from cosmetic benefits, implants can also alleviate certain physical issues such as difficulties eating or speaking.

DENTURES

DENTURES

Dentures, or “false teeth,” are a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types are available — complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partials are used when some natural teeth remain. Complete dentures can be either “conventional” or “immediate.” Made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has begun to heal, conventional is ready for placement in the mouth about eight to 12 weeks after the teeth have been removed.

A removable denture or bridge usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by a metal framework that holds it in place. They are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. A fixed bridge replaces one or more teeth by placing crowns on the surrounding teeth and attaching artificial replacements to them. This “tooth bridge” is then cemented into place.

Periodontal Gum Disease Treatments

Periodontal Gum Disease Treatments

Gum disease treatment varies depending on the type and severity of your condition. If the disease is caught early on as gingivitis and no damage has been done to the supporting structures under the teeth, you may need an in-office deep cleaning. If a more serious issue is detected, your periodontist may perform a more in-depth examination or schedule a follow-up appointment. If experiencing gum inflammation, pain, bleeding, or discomfort, schedule a dental exam at our DavieTamarac, or Plantation office right away.

Even with preventative measures, some patients develop more severe periodontal disease. The first step in treating the disease usually involves a special deep cleaning called “scaling and root planing.” In this treatment, the dentist removes plaque and tartar down to the bottom of each periodontal pocket. This treatment may be done over several visits, depending on your needs. The root surfaces of the teeth are then smoothed (or “planed”) to allow the gum tissue to heal and reattach to the teeth.

Tooth Reshaping & Contouring

Tooth Reshaping & Contouring

Tooth reshaping, also known as dental contouring or enameloplasty, is a cosmetic dental procedure in which small amounts of enamel are removed to change the length, shape, or surface of the teeth. Dental contouring can improve oral health by removing crevices or overlaps between the teeth in which plaque or tartar can accumulate. Our DaviePlantation, and Tamarac locations specialize in professional tooth contouring to restore the appearance of deformed or damaged teeth. This procedure is often used to correct the following:

  • Small chips
  • Grooves or pits in the enamel
  • Irregular tooth shape caused by overcrowding or unevenness
  • Uneven tooth length
  • Pointed teeth

Tooth contouring is a quick, painless, and inexpensive procedure that can make a big difference in your smile. Are you struggling with confidence issues due to uneven or deformed teeth? Schedule a consultation at our DavieTamarac, or Plantation office to discuss your conditions, options, and start the path to a perfect smile! Dental contouring is typically a quick and painless procedure that provides instant results. Schedule an appointment at one of our offices to get started – we will perform an exam first to identify any issues and create a treatment plan specific to your budget, schedule, and smile goals.

Veneers

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a great way to get that beautiful smile you’ve always wanted! They are ideal for people with stained, chipped, or missing teeth who are not good candidates for dental implants. Veneers are irreversible, so pacing them correctly is very important. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), a veneer is a “thin piece of porcelain used to re-create the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.”

Veneers are custom-made to fit your teeth and bonded to the enamel during a series of in-office procedures. Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation dental services include porcelain veneers for patients looking to restore the function and appearance of discolored or deformed teeth. Veneers are stain-resistant, natural-looking, and come in a range of colors, allowing patients to choose the exact shade of white they want.

  • No damage to your natural teeth
  • Improve confidence & appearance
  • Can be done in 1-2 visits
  • Provide a natural-looking tooth replacement
  • Porcelain is well-received by the gums
Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is recommended when there is an infection deep within the tooth. The pulp inside the tooth can become infected with bacteria due to an injury or untreated cavity. Without endodontic treatment from a professional, the infection can become severe enough that the tooth has to be removed. Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation dental services include root canal therapy for patients suffering from an infection. Schedule a consultation with our team where we’ll perform a dental exam and discuss treatment options. Root canal surgery has many health and cosmetic benefits, including:

  • Alleviation of painful symptoms
  • Improved oral health & prevention of further infection
  • Preservation of the natural tooth
  • Low pain & recovery time
  • Enhanced appearance through the use of crowns
Restorative Crowns & Bridges

Restorative Crowns & Bridges

A dental crown is placed over a weakened or broken tooth to restore its natural appearance and prevent further damage. They are commonly used to restore chipped or broken teeth, cover exposed teeth following surgery, or replace fillings. Crowns provide a long-term solution to restoring the function and appearance of damaged teeth. They are typically made of all metal, porcelain, or a combination of both. Our DavieTamarac, and Plantation offices specialize in tooth crowns to get your smile back on track! Since crowns are custom-made, they can take multiple appointments to complete.

During your first visit, the dentist uses a handpiece to shape the tooth before taking impressions. A temporary crown is placed to protect the tooth while the final crown is created. The impressions are used to fabricate a model of your mouth and develop the final crown. The crown is then cemented into the tooth, restoring it to a healthy and functioning state! Our dentists are here to guide you through everything from the first exam to post-procedure care. Dental crowns and bridges have many benefits, including but not limited to:

  • Improved chewing
  • Stronger and healthier teeth
  • No more pain or sensitivity
  • A better-looking smile

Looking to schedule a consultation at our DavieTamarac, or Plantation office? We have years of experience in the application and maintenance of restorative crowns and bridges; schedule an appointment with one of our specialists today! We will conduct a dental exam to determine which procedure is right for you. Restorative crowns are a solution for teeth that are cracked, chipped, decaying, or deformed; porcelain crowns are typically applied with a metal base, replacing damaged teeth to show off a more even and appealing smile.
