Dr. Peter Kung earned his Doctorate in Medicine with top honors at Northwestern University School of Medicine. His special interests include knee and shoulder arthroscopy and the treatment of sports-related injuries.

He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California at San Francisco in 2008 and worked as a sports medicine fellow at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

While at Kerlan-Jobe, Dr. Kung trained under world-renowned orthopedic surgeons and treated professional athletes from the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Ducks and LA Sparks, and USC football. He also served as assistant team physician for Loyola Marymount University.

He has brought his specialized knowledge and extensive training to the community of Longview, treating a wide variety of patients across all ages, with ailments ranging from athletic injuries to arthritis.

Dr. Kung is fellowship trained and specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures in the shoulder, knee and elbow.

He has done thousands of procedures, including: arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, shoulder instability cases, knee ligament reconstructions, elbow procedures and joint replacements of the shoulder, knee and hip.

He is the first area surgeon to perform a unicompartmental knee arthroplasty procedure in an outpatient setting.

He was fortunate to spend the next 5 years completing his orthopedic surgery residency in Honolulu at the University of Hawaii. There, he was an assistant team physician to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks, Los Angeles Kings, and Anaheim Ducks. Before joining Longview Urology in 2011, he completed a 21-year active duty career at the rank of colonel with the U.S. Air Force. He has been stationed in Arizona, Alaska, England, Illinois and California.

From January 2008 to June 2008, he was the sole urologist at the Balad Air Base, Iraq Hospital. He operated on soldiers from the U.S., Great Britain, France, Georgia, Iraq, Spain and Russia.

In January 2010, he volunteered to lead a 60-person, 10-bed hospital to Haiti to provide support immediately after the earthquake. Dr. Mansfield and his wife, Pamela, have five children

Dr. Lassen was born in Eugene, Oregon. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Southern Oregon State College in 1986. After earning his medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU), he completed a general surgery internship and a urology residency at Willford Hall USAF/Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio in 1996.

A Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urological Association, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Government Service Urologists.

His special interests include laparoscopy, urologic cancers, pediatrics, vasectomy, vasectomy reversal, and stone disease. Dr. Lassen served in the U.S. Air Force as Chief of Urology Services at Landstuhl Regional Center in Landstuhl, Germany, from 1996-1999.

He retired from the USAF Reserves as a Lt Colonel in 2006 after 21 years. In 1999, Dr. Lassen returned to the Northwest and joined Longview Urology.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and boating. Dr. Lassen and his wife, Natalie, have two children.

Dr. Jon Kretzler was born in Seattle. After graduating from Western Washington University, he earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the medical honor society. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He received fellowship training in sports medicine at Penn State University, where he worked with the school’s athletic teams. Dr. Kretzler served in the U.S. Army Reserves for nine years before joining Longview Orthopedic Associates in 1993.

He is an associate clinical professor at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland, Oregon, and instructs orthopedic residents from Oregon Health Sciences University.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Kretzler’s interests include general orthopedics, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and injury prevention. He is also qualified to perform transplants for articular cartilage defects.

After participating in intercollegiate soccer for four years, Dr. Kretzler continues to play recreational soccer and is an avid skier. He is also a certified soccer referee.

He and his wife, Virginia Cowden – a clinical psychologist and nurse practitioner – have two children.

Dr. Jake McLeod completed his undergraduate work at the University of Portland before earning a medical degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.

He then completed a three-year surgical residency program at the Highlands Foot & Ankle Institute in Denver, Colorado.

More recently, he finished a foot and ankle sports medicine and surgical fellowship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. While at Virginia Mason, his clinic treated professional athletes from the Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Reign FC, and the Seattle Storm.

Dr. McLeod routinely deals with sprains, fractures, and other foot pain due to bunions, flat feet, or arthritis. He specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, total ankle replacements, and minimally invasive surgeries, including ankle arthroscopy.

Dr. McLeod has attended numerous advanced surgical courses, including those covering flatfoot reconstruction, foot and ankle arthroscopy, total ankle replacement, and fundamentals of external fixation for trauma and deformity correction.

He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association.

A native of Bandon, Oregon, Dr. McLeod is an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks, Portland Trailblazers, and Atlanta Braves.
