Cosmetic Gynecology

Cosmetic Gynecology

Cosmetic gynecology procedures that are as individual as you are

Let’s face it – aging, pregnancy, childbirth, weight fluctuations, and genetics may all take a toll on the appearance and function of a woman’s vagina. That confidence – or lack thereof – follows you into the bedroom, the boardroom, and everywhere in between. Viva Eve is breaking the mold in a beautiful way by introducing cosmetic gynecology procedures, backed by expertise you can trust.

What is a labiaplasty?

In simplest terms, a labiaplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that changes the size or shape of the labia minora and/or the labia majora. The labia, Latin for lips, are fleshy folds of tissue around the female genitals.

Labiaplasty procedure can help correct any abnormalities and give the vagina a natural-looking, symmetric, and “tucked-in” shape. Various studies show that 95% of patients who have undergone this procedure are very satisfied with the results.

Who is the ideal candidate for labiaplasty?

Labia come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and their appearance can change naturally as patients age, experience extreme weight loss, or go through childbirth.

So, it often comes down to the aesthetic patients desire for themselves, so any woman who is unhappy with the way her vagina looks and feels can be a good candidate for this procedure. Aside from making things look better “down there”, labiaplasty can also correct several more serious issues:

  • Physical discomfort while wearing form-fitting clothing
  • Self-consciousness when changing at the gym or in any situation involving nudity
  • Pain or pinching during physical activities such as running, doing yoga, or having intercourse
  • Hygiene issues – bacteria can become trapped in the enlarged tissues, increasing the risk of infection.
  • Difficulty using the bathroom – some women with enlarged labia need to move the extra flaps of skin out of the way so that they can urinate (yes, this is true!)
  • Irritation that develops when the extra tissue gets stuck to the inner thigh when not being held in place by undergarments.

When googling “labiaplasty surgery NYC” online, it’s tempting to book your consultation with the first specialist you see. However, your care should be handled by an expert who is highly trained and helps you feel comfortable and confident in making your medical decisions. Viva Eve’s NYC labiaplasty specialists are here to help.

What is a vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty is a female genital surgical procedure that tightens the pelvic floor muscles and tissues surrounding the vagina and can also repair vaginal stretches and tears that result from childbirth, yielding a vaginal tightness resembling what the patient had before childbirth.

Why do women choose to undergo vaginoplasty?

Women choose to undergo this reconstructive surgical procedure for a variety of reasons, but ultimately, to restore the vagina to its proper function. A vaginoplasty reverses the toll that the aging process and childbirth takes by removing extra skin and tightening the vaginal canal. It can also repair congenital defects as well as treat vaginal injury due to childbirth, pelvic floor disease complications, and symptoms of urinary incontinence.

Who is the ideal candidate for vaginoplasty?

Age plays a factor when it comes to vaginoplasty. If you are in your 30s, 40s, or 50s and are done having children, you are an ideal candidate. Likewise, if you are in good physical shape and you have decided that now is the time to focus on you, you are a good candidate. If your overall outcome is to regain a tighter and more youthful vagina so that you can start feeling like yourself again, you should consider this procedure.

If you’re looking for an experienced vaginoplasty NYC doctor, look no further than Viva Eve!

dermal fillers

dermal fillers

Sophisticated facial rejuvenation procedures done using dermal fillers is about rebalancing the entire face and not just about lifting and tightening. Viva Eve’s expert skincare specialists modern and highly calibrated approach to dermal filler treatments ensures that our patients leave our practice looking like themselves, only better.

Our providers are not interested in altering their patients’ appearance and making them look unrecognizable, instead they help their patients highlight their favorite features, refine their appearance, and define their own sense of beauty and confidence.

What is a dermal filler injection?

Dermal filler injection is a minimally invasive nonsurgical rejuvenation treatment. Dermal fillers comprise a family of injectable medications that restore volume in areas of the skin where it has been lost and are injected just under the skin to restore and plump up volume, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, or give lips and cheeks a naturally fuller look.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

Dermal fillers are perfectly safe if your injections are performed by a reputable highly trained provider. Every practitioner has different philosophies, techniques, and levels of experience. You and your provider should communicate about realistic expectations and results before your dermal filler appointment. Dermal filler injection is a medical procedure that involves risks for infection, discoloration, and lumps if injections are not performed correctly.

What are Injectable Neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators or facial fillers, as they are commonly known, are dermal fillers that stimulate the production of collagen in depth. They are a unique class of anti-wrinkle injectables that relax your facial muscles by temporarily inhibiting their movement. They are often performed to plump skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Injectable neuromodulators can also be used to increase your lips fullness as well as reduce drooping eyelid over-eye bags.

How do you prepare for Neuromodulators?

Before your neuromodulator treatment, you’ll have a consultation with one of our Aesthetics specialists. During this consultation, you’ll discuss your skin goals, medical history, and areas of concern so that our specialist can design a custom skin care plan for you. If the best course of treatment includes injectable neuromodulators, you may decide to do the procedure the same-day, or may need to plan a bit further in advance.

Prior to your neuromodulator injection, you’ll be advised to:

  • Stay off blood thinners (Advil, Ibuprofen, etc.)
  • Avoid alcohol at least 24 hours prior to treatment
  • Avoid beverages containing caffeine at least 24 hours before the treatment
  • Stay away from topical products like Retinols, Glycolic Acid, and Alpha Hydroxy Acid for 3 days prior to your injection. These products may break your skin, making you susceptible to bruises and infections after the procedure.
  • Avoid bleaching, waxing, using depilatory creams, or tweezing in the area to be treated for one or two days prior to treatment.

All these measures will help to minimize the risk of bruising or infection after your neuromodulator injection procedure.

chemical peel

chemical peel

What is a Chemical Peel Procedure?

A chemical peel is a non invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that removes the top layers of skin to promote new cell growth. There are different types of chemicals that determine the depth of your peel and type of skin condition treated. Chemical peels can help improve a variety of skin conditions, including acne scars, aging skin, fine lines and dark spots. Anyone looking to improve the overall appearance of their skin is a potential candidate for this noninvasive treatment.

How do you prepare for a Chemical Peel?

Ahead of your chemical peel or chemical face peel, you will be given pre-treatment instructions that include:

  • Not exfoliating for at least 1 week before the appointment to minimize any damage to the skin.
  • Taking a break from wearing makeup for a few days before treatment and letting the skin “detox.”
  • Avoiding the sun and wearing strong sunblock (at least SPF 30) when going outside.
  • Staying hydrated and avoiding any products that can dry the skin.

Why is a Chemical Peel Procedure performed?

Chemical peels are available in various strengths to tailor to individual needs. Professionally done chemical peels administered by Viva Eve’s expert skincare specialists have many benefits:

  • Improved skin texture, color, tone, and clarity
  • Reduced skin discoloration caused by sun damage, skin imperfections, and superficial scars
  • Increased skin hydration and more radiant complexion
  • Daily moisturizers and serums can penetrate deeper into the skin and become more effective

PCOS patients may seek a chemical peel for acne to address hormonal acne and hyperpigmentation, whereas a postpartum patient might seek a chemical peel to address stretch marks and dark spots. Chemical peels are not always chemical face peels, and can treat all parts of the body.

The effectiveness of any chemical peel depends on whether or not it’s a good match for the patient’s skin. Viva Eve’s skincare specialists always have an in-depth pre-procedure discussion about each patient’s skin type, skincare habits, and other relevant medical information so that they can help them select the right peel.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin tightening procedure that rejuvenates skin through controlled micro injury, encouraging collagen production and cellular turnover and skin renewal. It involves a device with tiny little needles to puncture the skin, which in turn stimulates collagen production thus giving your skin a tighter and firmer appearance with minimal to no down-time.

How do you prepare for Microneedling?

Ahead of your microneedling procedure, you will be given microneedling pre-treatment instructions that include:

  • Avoiding sun exposure unless you are wearing a very strong (50+) SPF, hair removal, and exfoliants before your treatment to prevent irritation.
  • Keeping an eye out for an active skin infection or breakout, like a cold sore, hives, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, or active acne, as microneedling may worsen active breakouts. If you are experiencing these problems, consult your provider, as you may need to reschedule.
  • Ceasing the use of retinoid and acid-based skincare products 7 days before your procedure to avoid any possible skin irritation or overdrying
  • Temporarily ceasing the use of blood-thinning medication before your microneedling appointment.
  • Arriving with a washed face (use only a gentle cleanser) on the day of the appointment and avoiding using any lotion, perfume, serum, or makeup.
