Allison Edwards, MD

Dr. Allison Edwards believes in keeping people well, rather than just stepping in and treating them. She wants to change the way healthcare is delivered. Her areas of expertise and interests include public health, emergency medicine, preventive medicine, and women's health.

Dr. Edwards, originally from Lawrence, completed her undergraduate education at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. She returned to Kansas City to attend medical school at the University of Kansas. She completed her residency and served as Chief Resident at the University of Colorado in Denver, CO. Dr. Edwards is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Apart from providing care at Kansas City Direct Primary Care, she is a volunteer at the JayDoc Free Clinic. She also serves as a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Kansas and a Volunteer Clinical Instructor for the University of Colorado. It allows her to educate the next generation of healers.

When free, she loves to spend time with family and pursue her hobbies like photography, gardening, travel, cooking, being outdoors, or simply reading the newspaper over a cup of coffee.
