Dr. Jacobs, a Board-certified Prosthodontist in Chicago, completed his graduation at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the University of Michigan, College of Engineering. After dental school, he opted for a three-year residency program in prosthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prosthodontics is the stream of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing teeth using the best standards of care. Dr. Jacobs is trained in complex rehabilitation, digital dentistry, along with implant surgery and restoration.
Dr. Jacobs served four years as a clinical professor at the University of Illinois – Chicago, School of Dentistry. He has published several articles in multiple international journals. His implant research earned him a place as a 2013 John J. Sharry Research Competition Finalist. Dr. Jacobs was the President of his dental class at Harvard and was rewarded the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Leader Award and the Dr. Norman B. Nesbett Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. At graduation, he was introduced into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Currently, Dr. Jacobs lectures to other dentists and specialists on topics like immediate implants (same-day implants), the relation between gum health and overall systemic health, and correction of a gummy smile.
