I feel truly lucky to have found my way to a career in general pediatrics. My approach to care of children is quite simple – to keep my eyes wide open as I work to nurture and heal the child and to reassure and calm the parent. Despite significant advances in medicine, the key to optimal care of patients still lies in a thorough history and comprehensive physical. In pediatrics this takes experience, a focus on process and detail, and a way with children. I act as the quarterback as I advocate and coordinate care for my patients, whether this involves a simple infant well-child visit, an urgent care visit for a feverish child, or care coordination for a child with significant medical complexity.
We have stepped away from the in-network insurance model to provide a different choice for families who would prefer to pay directly for unmatched convenience and personalized care. I truly enjoy practicing ‘small town’ medicine in our big city. Most of all, I enjoy having the time and flexibility to develop strong and trusting relationships with all of my patients and their families.
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, building furniture and spending time with my family. My wife Joy and I have three children; Tommy (16), Molly (14), and Ian (10) and we live in the North Center neighborhood.
