DR. JOHNSON

Although I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, I spent most of my childhood in Pennsylvania. I attended the University of Nebraska, where I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and a Masters of Science degree in exercise science. I received my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center and completed my residency training through Michigan State University in Traverse City, Michigan.

I am a Board Certified Family Physician. I hold dual accreditation from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Medicine. In 2014 I earned a Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In my sixteen years of practice, I have been blessed with many leadership roles including Chief Resident. Quality Medical Director. Practice Medical Director, and Physician Champion for Patient-Centered Medical Home, to name a few.

A note from Dr. Johnson: I can honestly say that I knew I wanted to go into family medicine from the very beginning of my schooling. I was drawn to the ability to develop long-term relationships with people, even generations of families. I enjoy getting to know you not only as a patient but as a friend. Creating and maintaining long-lasting relationships is my main reason for choosing a Direct Primary Care practice model.

While I enjoy taking care of patients of all ages and backgrounds, I find Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) fulfilling. Applying soft tissue techniques, myofascial release, and high velocity/ low amplitude mobilization helps people get back to their life quickly. Being able to treat and incorporate standard medical care such as wellness, diabetes, hypertensive, and high cholesterol with OMT is the hallmark of an osteopathic family physician. And this is what I find most rewarding with Family Practice.

My wife and I made Lincoln our home in 2003, and feel that it is truly one of the best decisions we have made. It is a wonderful city that has provided us with many opportunities for our three children, who keep us very busy. I enjoy spending my free time exercising, coaching youth sports, church activities and most importantly spending time with my friends and family.
