Dr. Vance Lassey has been living and working in the Holton community since 2007. He received dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Kansas and then pursued his M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He performed as Chief Resident of the Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program in Salina, Kansas. He received multiple awards for teaching, writing, and also the prestigious national AAFP Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education.

After practicing full-spectrum family medicine since 2007 at Holton Community Hospital in Northeast Kansas, he left the traditional medical system to pursue his dream to put "Patients First", and founded Holton Direct Care in 2016.

He has been a member of various boards, including the KDHE Newborn Screening Advisory Council, the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors, and the Governor's Fitness Council. Dr. Lassey is a founding member of the Direct Primary Care Alliance and serves as the Vice President on the Board of Directors. Dr. Lassey is also a founding member of the Midwest DPC Alliance.

He received the 2018 AOA Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award, and still proudly serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

He lives with his wife, Erin, and two children, Luke and Rebekah, in Holton, Kansas. Erin is the owner and operates Penny's, a local coffee and bakeshop. Dr. Lassey, born and brought up on a farm in Peck, Kansas, feels right at home in Holton. When free, he loves indulging himself in building renovation, carpentry, outdoor activities, shooting hoops with his kids, and spending time with family. He is a proud elder at the Holton First Baptist Church. If there's any more free time at all, he loves playing the banjo.
