Michael J. Buckmaster, M.D.

Dr. Michael J. Buckmaster brings nearly 30 years of medical experience to Southern Indiana Surgery. After receiving his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech, Dr. Buckmaster earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan School of Medicine.

He completed his general surgery residency and research fellowship at the University of Kentucky, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Dr. Buckmaster is board-certified in vascular surgery. He is also a Registered Vascular Technician. He has served in positions ranging from Chief of Surgery to Medical Director.

Dr. Buckmaster works alongside Dr. Douglas Y. Roese and Dr. Jason W. Christie in leading Southern Indiana Surgery’s Vascular Practice Service Line.
