Michael J. Dorenbusch, M.D.

A native of Columbus and a graduate of Columbus North High School, Dr. Michael Dorenbusch is chairman of Comprehensive Surgery Management, a physician group that manages all of the inpatient and outpatient surgical and endoscopic services at Columbus Regional Health.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Indiana University in 1986.

He received his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1990.

He went on to residency training at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis between 1990 and 1995. During his surgical training, he was twice awarded the prestigious Willis D. Gatch Research Award.

He returned to Columbus to join Southern Indiana Surgery in 1995. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Dorenbusch is also president of Multi-County Physicians, an association of 400 physicians in a five-county area. Dr. Dorenbusch is also founding president and CEO of Innovative Physician Solutions, a malpractice insurance company that covers more than 250 providers.

He and his wife Dr. Susan Dorenbusch, a practicing gynecologist, have three sons.
