DO YOU TREAT INFANTS AND CHILDREN?

Yes!  Kids’ membership is just $39 a month when added onto a family of two or more!  We also see babies for Osteopathic manipulation without a membership for $125 a treatment.  We preserve same day and next day visits for all members.  With Direct Primary Care, you are not turned away to urgent care because you can’t get in when your child is sick. When appropriate, phone visits and an online portal mean you can avoid unnecessary trips to the office.  We are family doctors, so your child can grow up with us and the whole family can access care in the same great place.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC FAMILY MEDICINE?

Holistic family medicine finds optimal ways to support your health, incorporating the best of western and alternative practices. Building and maintaining health is our goal. We use modern medicine for what it is good at: innovative diagnostics.  Once we have a clear diagnosis, often we will add expanded laboratory testing to seek underlying causes of issues. Then we present the most effective, least invasive treatment options. Together we decide on a treatment plan that informs and directs your care.  To learn more about complementary, alternative and integrative medicine visit the National Institute of Health’s website or or read Dr. Andrew Weil’s website

WHAT IS OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATION TREATMENT (OMT)?

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment is a gentle, hands-on manipulation designed to help your body maximize its natural healing potential. The OMT by Dr Brie combines techniques that overlap with physical therapy, non force chiropractic, acupuncture and massage.  Techniques include:

  • Myofascial, muscle energy, counterstrain and trigger point release
  • Cranial treatments, similar to craniosacral therapy
  • Functional dry needling

WHAT IS A D.O.?

A D.O. is a Doctor of Osteopathy.  A Doctor of Osteopathy provides the same services as a primary care doctor with an MD and can prescribe medicines but also utilizes hands-on treatments called Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment or OMT. Osteopathic physicians are fully licensed physicians in all 50 states.

IS THIS CONCIERGE CARE?

No, this is not Concierge Care.  Concierge and Direct Primary Care have similar roots but also differences. In concierge there is typically a retainer fee charged annually; we charge monthly because for many an upfront cost is prohibitive. Concierge practices often continue to bill insurance; Direct Primary Care will not because we don’t want you to have to pay twice for your care. Some concierge doctors will be available to you in nursing homes and hospitals, but we do not bill insurance so we will only see you in the office.  We think Direct Primary Care’s model is more accessible to all families. Our goal is to provide excellent service, and to greatly reduce cost.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

Our doctors do not use narcotics or controlled substances to manage chronic pain or anxiety. Our techniques and specialties can be used as complementary treatments for pain management but any patient requiring routine narcotic medication will need a specialist.

DO I STILL NEED INSURANCE?

It is your choice whether you to have or not have insurance or catastrophic coverage. We recommend it as emergencies do happen. However, we’ll take care of you either way. If you need suggestions for insurance plans or cost sharing plans that pair well with our membership, call us.

We recommend Sedera Medical Cost Sharing to help with those big, scary medical bills. Our members get a discount on their monthly cost contribution. Learn more here.

DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICAID?

We do not accept Medicaid insurance. If you are a current member and qualify for Medicaid, please let us know as soon as possible so we can discuss options. We do offer a scholarship membership, ask us (link to the contact submission/email) about income qualifications for this program.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Yes and No.  With the direct primary care model your insurance is used for what it is intended to cover: catastrophic health events, hospitalizations, specialist care, imaging and surgery. You can continue to use your insurance for medications and labs as well. However, we have found discounts on medications, labs, imaging and supplements and we pass our tips on to you.  We are here to help you manage the health care system so you get the most out of your money and time. Note that our monthly fee is not a charge you can submit to your insurance carrier. Speak with your tax specialist about paying for your membership using FSA accounts or HSA accounts as they may have certain limitations.

BUT I ONLY GO TO THE DOCTOR ONCE A YEAR. WHY SHOULD I PAY EVERY MONTH?

You have likely never worked with doctors that make your health the biggest priority, working with you to meet goals and making it convenient to do so. We anticipate our patients will need us about four times a year, some need more or less. We ask for monthly payments to keep your care affordable, predictable and reliable. If you aren’t satisfied with direct primary care you can cancel at any time. There are no contracts or obligations.

WHAT IS DIRECT PRIMARY CARE?

Direct Primary Care is a membership based model for healthcare that gives you direct access to your providers. Instead of billing your insurance for every office visit, you pay a monthly membership fee that covers your visits when you need them whenever you need to. We use the technology of today to make access convenient and collaborative. You can communicate through our secure online messaging, by phone, and text. We can often meet urgent care needs and save you a trip to the hospital. We know when its time to use emergency care, so call any time with your concerns.
