FAQs

What happens if I need to go to the hospital or need to see a specialist?

The Impact Health DPC membership does not include hospitalization or specialist care. In the instances that a patient does require hospitalization, we are happy to communicate with your hospital team and help coordinate follow up. If a patient needs to see a specialist, we are happy to help coordinate that care as well.

If I have Medicare, can I still be a patient of Impact Health DPC?

Yes! However, due to Medicare regulations we do not do a monthly membership fee for Medicare patients, but rather all services will be billed to Medicare, according to HHS, CMS guidelines. We can accept a limited number of Medicare patients due to federal regulations. We are able to see patients with traditional Medicare and many of the Medicare Supplement plans. We are not able to see patients with Medicare Advantage plans as we are not in-network. Call us to discuss any Supplemental Medicare insurance plans you have to verify that they allow you to choose your own doctor. Click Here to learn more.

As a patient of Impact Health DPC, will I still need health insurance?

Yes. We recommend our patients continue to carry health insurance for services not covered by our membership (such as emergencies, hospitalization, surgery, diagnostics, referral to a specialist, etc).

Does Impact Health DPC accept health insurance?

No, we do not accept health insurance (except Medicare—see below). This is how we keep our costs low.

Is Impact Health DPC considered health insurance?

No, we are not considered health insurance.

What is included in the membership at Impact Health Direct Primary Care?

For a low, flat monthly fee, you get primary care office visits with no copays, direct access to your physician by phone, email, or video chat, same or next business day visits, extended, relaxed office visits, and access to discounts on labs, pathology, and imaging. For more information visit our member benefits page.

What is Direct Primary Care or “DPC”?

Direct Primary Care is a fast growing membership model of primary care that puts patients first. We contract directly with patients to provide primary care services in our office. We charge a low monthly fee for membership and because we do not bill insurance for our services, we can eliminate a lot of the red tape that restricts traditional practices. This allows us to provide affordable, personalized and transparent care for our patients.
