FAQs

How will I know if WeCARE Medical Office is for me?

Schedule a FREE meet and greet with Dr. Valenzuela to discuss your healthcare needs and see our office. It’s the only reasonable way to begin what we know will be a long, happy, and healthy relationship.

Can I cancel anytime?

We do ask that you stay with us at least 6 months. After the 6 month period, it’s month to month-you can cancel at any time. However, if you choose to join again, there is a $250 re-enrollment fee.

Can I pay per visit?

Of course. If you don’t want membership option and still would like to have Dr. Valenzuela as your Primary Care Physician, you can pay as you go. We accept major credit cards, CashApp, PayPal, and checks

Are my medical records shared with pharmaceutical companies or insurance carriers?

Unless specifically asked by you, we NEVER provide any third party with any information pertaining to you.

What if I need medical attention while away from home?

We take pride in the fact that we were offering Telemedicine as an option way before it became so popular. It is worthy to note that many illnesses can be diagnosed and treated via Telemedicine. Once Dr. Valenzuela sees you via Telemedicine, we will locate for you the nearest pharmacy and order the medications that you need. In a few rare instances, we may recommend that you seek care from an urgent care center nearest to you.

Can I contact the office after hours?

By all means! For URGENT matters we ask that you call our main line. For all non urgent matters, you can message Dr. Valenzuela via our secure patient portal. Those messages will be responded to within 24-48 hours.

Can children become members of WeCARE Medical Office?

Absolutely. Dr. Valenzuela is great with kids and kids love visiting her. Dr. Valenzuela became a family physician in order to provide care to patients of all ages (including newborns). The only requirement we have is for at least one parent to become a member with the child.

What happens if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?

Our intent is to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals. However, in instances where those types of care are required, we will certainly continue to treat you during your hospital stay and work closely with any specialist so that you not only get the best possible care but that there is a follow through with any recommendation made by the specialist.

If I have Medicare or Medicaid, can I still join WeCARE Medical Office?

Yes. You only need to sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare or Medicaid for medical services rendered by us. Medicare or Medicaid will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations prescribed by our office.

As a patient of WeCARE Medical Office, will I still need health insurance?

Membership with us is NOT considered insurance. We still recommend patients continue to carry a plan in case of medical emergencies and for specialty care. Some patients have enrolled in a high deductible plan with an emergency care provision. This has significantly lowered their monthly health insurance premium and helped them afford our monthly membership fee.

Can I afford membership at WeCARE Medical Office?

We hope so. We deliberately have kept the monthly fee reasonable so that more patients can afford it. The yearly amount of the membership fee is less than what most people pay for their deductible alone! Not to include the exorbitant monthly premiums, hidden costs, and never ending co-pays.

What if I already have insurance?

We recommend that. Insurance plans are great for emergencies. But for your every day medical needs, there is too much red tape with insurance companies. That is why we encourage patients to get the most affordable plan, in case of an emergency, and allow us to handle the rest. If Dr. Valenzuela has to send you out for a lab test, imaging, or a specialty visit, of course we will include your insurance information so that they bill the insurance for those services and not you.

Does WeCARE Medical Office accept health insurance?

No. By not billing insurance companies, we are able to focus more on you and spend less time and energy on processing bills and dealing with insurance companies. Since you pay us directly, if your insurance changes, you never have to worry about changing doctors.

What if I am healthy and rarely go to the doctor?

That is exactly what Dr. Valenzuela wants for her patients. That is why she dedicates more time for prevention and lifestyle changes. Her primary focus is to keep all members well and help them avoid lots of “medical” care. Of course, she is available for urgent matters as well.

Why charge a membership fee?

The membership fee allows Dr. Valenzuela to focus on you and your healthcare needs.  It allows you to have direct relationship with your Primary Care Physician and it gives you the power to make decisions about your health care; We intentionally forego insurance billing to reduce unnecessary costs by removing the “middle man”from your Primary healthcare. Direct Primary care removes the financial fear associated with seeing your doctor because there are no hidden fees or surprise bills in the mail months later.   You don’t have to worry about having to pay co-pays per visit and meeting your deductible. It’s Simple: Accessible, Affordable, Attentive Health Care. The way Healthcare should be.

How is WeCARE Medical Office different than other offices?

First and foremost, you will not be rushed out the door. Dr. Valenzuela will take the necessary time to answer and address all of your questions and concerns. Second, you will have the entire office to yourself during the visit. You will not be interacting with other patients. The waiting room and patient room is ALL yours.  Third, Dr. Valenzuela will create a personalized health strategy for you, with a Health and Nutrition Coach, in order to help you get healthier and keep you there. And, Fourth, for urgent matters, Dr. Valenzuela makes herself available 24/7.
